When selling your vehicle privately, an AWN Mechanical Breakdown Insurance can add value to your Motor Vehicle, Motorbike, Motorhome or Caravan.
Step 1. Complete and Submit Transfer of Ownership Application Form
To transfer the benefits of an AWN Mechanical Breakdown Insurance, you must complete a transfer of ownership application form and submit to AWN within 7 days of change of ownership of the vehicle.

Submit the Transfer of Ownership Application form and Proof of Vehicle Purchase by uploading the documents here. File size must be under 5Mb, and file format must be PDF, or JPEG/PNG (Photo format).

Step 2. Vehicle Inspection
Once we have received your Transfer of Ownership Application form and Proof of Vehicle Purchase, upon confirming the Mechanical Breakdown Insurance is valid, a representative from AWN will contact the new owner of the vehicle to arrange a vehicle inspection. A fee will be charged for the vehicle inspection by the approved repairer.
Step 3. Submit Vehicle Inspection and AWN administration fee
After you have had your vehicle inspected by an AWN approved repairer, send the inspection report with the AWN $75 administration fee to AWN for review. You will be notified within 72 hours of successful transfer. View Payment Options for more information on how to pay the $75 administration fee.
